So, what do owls see in that world that is so secret to us? Well, you have to go into their world to find out and you have to consider the physical properties of vision and the way light travels from a moon with different degrees of its surface illuminated by the sun, the atmosphere the light must travel through, the distance it must travel, and the fact that it is not illumination which we percieve, but luminance.
